Baby today!

Well, here I am in the hospital, already IV-ed up and getting ready to have this baby all of a sudden. Jeff made me call the dr. this morning when I was feeling pretty horrible, and next thing we knew we were on the way to the hospital.

I'm 37 weeks, he'll be fine (I'm just praying his lungs are developed well...) and I'm so over being pregnant!

We'll get pics up asap - meanwhile, pray for us! It's scheduled for 2:00pm (central) so here we go.

Carson is finally talking more...his latest: "Go 'way!" (to Brady when B tried to comfort him), "Dank!" (thanks), and "Hold you!" Yelled, of course. And then there's "BEE-BITT!" which is his blanket. Sunday for Jeff's birthday I brought home donuts from Shipleys and he recognized the box and started yelling "NO-NUT!" Every now and then I'll get them donut holes from Shipleys and apparently he totally knows the logo...

Brady talks a lot, repeats everything, and loves to sing (relatively carrying a tune.) He loves to play with the fake food with Emmie - I asked her if she was having fun with someone to "feed" and she answered "it's like having my very own child!" He follows her around with puppy-dog eyes.

This is a little gross, but funny (to me, anyway.)

A few months ago I broke a toe, and the nail turned purple/black. When it didn't have nail polish covering it, Carson would always mess with it - a little obsessed with that toe. Today he played with it and the nail came off - but was still a little attached at first. He was freaked but enthralled, and wouldn't leave it alone, saying "EEEEWWWW! EEEEEEWWWWW!" over and over. I kept hiding it under the coffee table or trying to get him to leave it alone but he just couldn't. It was gross - all the dried blood junk under the nail was kinda freaky - and he was totally fascinated.

New - they like to boss each other. If I tell one to do something the other acts like the enforcer. For instance, if I say "Carson, come eat your yummy lunch" Brady (already sitting at the table) will yell "Carcun! Eat! Num-num!" Or if I say "Brady, don't touch the fireplace!" Carson will say "Baby! No-no! Momma!" They are truly hilarious.

Little people updates

Carson - says all the time "nack? nack?" wanting a snack, or "a nummy dith?" meaning, I suppose, a yummy this...loves food. Today I filled the bird feeder and he was looking at the bag of birdseed saying "nack? nack?" and I answered "no, this is for the birds to eat." He thought for a minute and said "birdieth nummy dith?" He loves to order Brady around (older by 45 seconds) and orders him away from the computer saying "no, baby, mommy'th!"

Brady - still repeats everything, loves to sing. Grabbed the little toy microphone tonight and serenaded me for about 10 minutes straight. Loves to be tender to momma.

Emmie - still thinks everything more than about 10 minutes away is Texas. If we drive downtown she asks "when will we be back in Arkansas?"

Logan - stuffed his pants to avoid a spank today for the first time - he and Emmie ran up and put on 5-6 pairs of pants apiece. I had to laugh.

Riley - thinks it's so great when Carson or Brady prefer her to me when they're crying - usually after I tell them no about something. She's a great "big sister".

Me - About 30 days left, BP still wacky and up too high even on meds. Having a non-stress test for the baby Friday. He freaked me out and wasn't moving much from last night through this morning, then went nuts when the Doctor was about to listen for the heartbeat. This one's got me all nervous!

5 weeks left!

I'm happy to NOT be on bed rest, even though my BP was increasingly up. My OB gave me some BP meds that will help for the rest of the pregnancy, and he's plannning to schedule the C-section at about 38 1/2 weeks. So today the kids and I are making a paper chain (a la Deb) to count down the days!

We still don't have a name (although today Em suggested Cupid "because there aren't any Cupids in the world"). We'll take suggestions (sometimes with a grain of salt.)

We're finishing the school day at the coffee table with me laid out on the couch - wouldn't it be nice to feel the freedom to laze around even when not way pregnant? Maybe not - I like feeling productive and I definitely don't feel productive (except in the sense of producing a little person.) I do like lying here listening to the kids sweetly (a miracle in and of itself) do their work with Emmie singing at my feet. She and Brady always have a song...
